Golden Gate Park is one of my favourite places to spend a Sunday afternoon as it’s closed to vehicles for the day, making it ever so slightly safer to stand in the middle of the road to take outfit photos…
The weather has been lovely and warm recently, so taking our bikes and books to the park or beach has become a regular occurrence. The park has so many nooks and crannies, full of flora and fauna – on this trip we even spotted a wild gopher a metre from our picnic blanket. I managed to get some photographic evidence (see below) before he disappeared back into his hole.
I haven’t been gravitating to dresses that much since we moved, so I decided to throw on an old favourite for the occasion. This colourful floral number is from Motel, when they used to have a shop on Bristol’s Park Street, selling a mix of printed dresses and vintage shirts and boots. I think this was only around £5 at the time and the colour palette of aqua blues, mint green and cerise is so cheerful, it always puts me in a good mood when I wear it.
The only downside to shooting outfits on a Sunday afternoon is the position of the sun creating harsh shadows. I’m thinking of trying to shoot in RAW mode as apparently it allows for greater editing capabilities, but I’ve never tried using my DSLR in this mode before. If you use RAW mode let me know your tips or favourite tutorials!

Oh I have major sunshine envy right now, seriously I am so ready for a heatwave to hit England. Looking gorgeous- I love your shoes! xx
Thanks Laura! If it’s any consolation, the San Francisco summer is distinctly cloudy at the moment! x
Ah, I remember that Motel store well! ;) Such a lovely print, I wish it was sunny here…
I miss that shop! Was so surprised when it shut down :(
You look lovely here, that dress was made for sunshine!

Thanks Maria! Sometimes I worry that it’s a little short, but if you can’t wear a short hemline in such good weather, when can you! :) x
