The Little Things #29 – Podcasts, Hiking and Celebrations

Cheese board

There’s no doubt about it, March was a cracking month from start to finish. From a surprise invite to a vintage fair that led me to a summer dress with serious Molly Goddard vibes, to a weekend so full of sunshine it demanded not one but two trips to the ice cream parlour, I’ve had an excellent month. Add onto that the arrival of our green cards, a work trip to New York, and launching season two of my podcast, and I really can’t complain. Here are the big (and little) things that have made my month…

Blogging about: The return of Non/Native – my podcast featuring conversations with female immigrants. I’m so excited to bring it back for a second season, and so far  guests include Flora, Niki and Ghenet

Watching: Captain Marvel at the cinema, and a movie night with my friend, Erica, which was essentially a deep dive into the best outfits from Ocean’s 8. Heaven.

Making: My podcast – editing is still challenging for me so numerous hours have been spent with earphones and a laptop this month.

Buying: A record player, vintage clothes, and some new plants.

Reading: Vox by Christina Dalcher, Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney, and Sal by Mitch Kitson.

Listening to: Records on our new record player. After actual years of debating the merits of collecting physical music again, we finally got it together and got ourselves a record player. We only have a few records so far though, so mostly we’ve been listening to Fleetwood Mac, Miles Davis and Roberta Flack.

Wearing: My jazzy new skirt that I found at A Current Affair vintage fair.

Eating: Lots of ice cream, and some delicious treats in New York, including pizza from Joe’s, macaroni cheese from Murray’s, and cookie dough from DŌ.

Enjoying: Spending time in New York, the intermittent sunshine, a green card-themed party, pretending to play golf, hiking in Tennessee Valley and around Lands End, and reading lots.

Looking forward to: Our holiday to Mexico – six days of diving, paddle boarding, reading and swimming – I can’t wait!
