Why Not Now

Why Not Now jumper by Pull and BearSo right now we’ve been in San Francisco for just under 48 hours. Initial impressions are that sunshine in late November is awesome (it was around 20 degrees yesterday), the blueberry pancakes are just as good as I remember and that I need to work on my Californian annunciation, as no one can understand me when I ask for “water”.

I definitely had reservations about leaving Bristol, my adopted home for the last 10 years, to move to another country but Bristol will always be there, right? So why not do it now, while we’re young (ish), healthy (ish) and don’t have any ties like children to look after. I know that this next chapter will have its challenges, but I’m ready to embrace them.

I spotted this jumper in Pull & Bear months ago and it perfectly sums up my attitude to life at the moment. Ever since we found out about our move I’ve been trying to say yes to as many opportunities as possible, and I hope this new ethos has followed me on the plane, as I really want to make the most of our new adventure.

These photos were another collaboration with Charlene Lim (you can see our first shoot together here) and the light in Bristol’s ‘Old Town’ couldn’t have been more perfect on the morning we shot together. Fingers crossed that I can find some great new locations to shoot in San Francisco!
