The Little Things #6

The Little ThingsThings have changed a lot around here since I wrote the last TLT post, the biggest being that we found out that we’re moving to America! Preparations are in full swing and this weekend our friends helped us celebrate with a leaving party last night and a huge roast dinner this afternoon, so I’m feeling pretty tried right now. Here are a few more big and small things that have made me happy recently…

Blogging about: Saying goodbye to 10 years of living in Bristol and hello to a new adventure.
Listening to: Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes – perfect rainy day music, even more so now that the clocks have changed and all I wanted to do is hibernate on my sofa.
Counting: All the clothes I’ve managed to get rid of so far, which is over 100, for clothes swaps, charity shops, recycling and selling.
Selling: Vintage clothes on eBay and I’ve recently hopped on the Depop bandwagon – I hate to get rid of clothes but I can’t take them all with me to America! You can find me here.
Making: Brownies and cupcakes for our red, white and blue themed leaving party, which took place last night.
Reading: I recently finished The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, which was wonderful. I’ve had to purge my rather extensive magazine collection to prepare for the move, so I’ve also been rereading some of my favourite copies of ELLE and Marie Claire before tossing them into the recycling bin *sob*.
Wearing: Layers as the weather is so changeable at the moment, though on sunnier days I have taken to wearing this pretty Whistles skirt.
Doing: Lots of packing and sorting. I’m a natural hoarder so I’ve been surprised at how much I’ve enjoyed getting rid of all the clutter in our house.
Eating: Out almost every night this week and some of Bristol’s best indie restaurants, including Korean café Sky Kong Kong near the Bearpit and Asian bar & grill Sticks ‘n’ Broth on Baldwin Street, not to mention having an epic breakfast at the Francis in Bath.
Enjoying: Cycling to Bath and back with my lovely friend Hannah, clocking up 37 miles in four hours. I also spent a lovely evening at DUO in Bath with some of my favourite bloggers  – more on that soon!
Looking forward to: Making the most of our last few weeks in Bristol and spending as much time with friends and family as possible.

Yay for sorting through your wardrobe! I’m not moving anywhere but I need to have another go, even though I gave away a whole bin bag full and about 10 pairs of boots! Ha!

Good work! If it helps, thinking about moving (abroad or otherwise) helps when it comes de-cluttering!
