Bank Holiday Bliss

Playing ScrabbleThis year I’ve been keen to embrace and enjoy the British countryside during every long weekend and bank holiday that comes my way. In April Mr Ship-Shape and I spent a few days in Cornwall for my birthday, before making a pilgrimage to the Gower in Wales with our friends for a spot of Easter camping.

Both weekends revolved around coastal walks, lots of food and excellent company. Hopefully this weekend, the last bank holiday of spring, lives up to its predecessors.

I often forget to post about our escapades on here (I still have draft posts from trips to Berlin and San Francisco) but since my camera is permanently attached to my side on all our holidays – no matter how short – I thought I’d share a few photos from our Great British adventures.

How are you spending this bank holiday weekend? I hope you’re enjoying it!Jubilee pool Penzance The disused jubilee pool in Penzance An eager model on our walkAn eager model on our walk from Mousehole to LamornaBoats in Mousehole harbourLow tide at Mousehole Harbour walking in cornwallWalking through Cornish woodland in a not-so-sensible outfit… These boots were made for walkingThese boots were made for walking – the start of our four hour walk across the Worm’s Head in the Gower Wormshead at Rhosilli BayWorm’s Head – you can walk across to this tidal island and back again during low tide Seal at Rhosilli BayWe weren’t the only ones making the most of the Easter weekend… Dandelions in the campsite Dandelions at the edge of our campsite in Port Eynon – we were camped yards away from the beach

Such beautiful photos, especially the one of the low tide! Unlike you, I always forget to bring my camera with you and I fear this bank holiday weekend will be no different, le sigh! Sarah xo

Lovely photos! Looks like a fab weekend :-) Such a shame about the Jubilee Pool though – I hope they manage to raise the money to save it after the damage from the winter storms. I spent many a happy summer swimming there when I was young and when I was old (only a couple of years ago!) :-) xx
