Throwback Floral Trousers

I’ve been so eager to write about our trips and adventures that outfit posts have fallen by the wayside of late. While there will be plenty more travel posts to come, I figured I’d mix things up with a pair of floral trousers.

These photos are actually a throwback to this time last year (how has a year gone by so quickly!?) when I’d nearly finished my first Whole30. The trousers, and blazer for that matter, we both long-term loans from my friend S, after we’d decluttered her wardrobe the month prior during a visit back to the UK. They were a bit of tight squeeze when I first tried them on, so this was a no-pasta-for-a-month victory lap.

Some of my favourite pieces are secondhand in some way, either vintage, thrifted or discovered at a clothes swap. Since shedding half our possessions to move here I’ve become a lot more ruthless when it comes to clothes that no longer fit my tastes or body shape, to the point were I delight in passing once-loved dresses or hardly worn tops onto friends.

Decluttering is something S and I have done a lot of together – she helped me cut down on my vintage collection and I’ve spent many a happy evening on the floor of her spare room, helping evaluate the merits of leopard print coats and debating if owning five hairbrushes is to extravagant. Owning some of her cast-offs and seeing her wearing some of mine when we Skype is a nice reminder of our friendship, even when we’re not on the same continent.
