The Little Things #7

The Little Things 7The time has come to say goodbye to Bristol and indeed the UK – in a few hours we’ll be flying across the pond to our new life in San Francisco.

The last few weeks have been filled with both little and big things that have put a smile on my face, mostly our friends and family, who have been so supportive, excited for us and kind when we needed a hand moving furniture, or just supplying us with a well-needed slice of homemade cake.

This Little Things post sums up the best bits from our last two weeks in the UK and, corny as it sounds, I will treasure the memories that have been made during this time.

Blogging about: A delightful pair of boots called ‘Anton’, the products I swear by for soothing dry skin and ticking off items on my Bristol Bucket List.
Listening to: Alt-J’s new album and everything by The Cadbury Sisters.
Watching: Very little as our TV has gone into storage, but I have been watching Liberty of London on 4OD and I’m looking forward to watching films on the plane…
Making: An effort to see as many friends as possible, including trekking up to Birmingham to see one of my oldest friends and his adorable family, and spending time with my favourite blogging ladies.
Reading: The San Francisco guidebook that I bought for our holiday back in March. It’s exciting thinking that we’ll have plenty of time to visit all the cafes, parks and attractions that we didn’t have time to do then.
Wearing: A few new items that have snuck into my wardrobe thanks to the blogger clothes swap I attended a couple of weeks ago, including some über 80s blouses.
Buying: One last pair of shoes. I’ve been so strict with myself and not buying anything for months, but I finally caved and bought the pair that I’d been lusting after for the last six months, as a pre-moving treat.
Eating: Fish and chips, pie from Pieminister, several roast dinners and lots of other ‘traditional’ British food favourites. I also enjoyed a taste of American dining when Hayley invited me to join her in trying out the new menu at TGI Fridays with Lily and Lyzi – check out the epic-ness of our burgers!
Shooting: With the fantastic Charlene Lim. A mutual friend paired us up and Charlene and I were able to squeeze in a few outfit shoots before we left.
Enjoying: Spending quality time with my nearest and dearest, teaching Mama Ship-Shape how to Skype, my final boxing session, house warming parties, hanging out with my favourite blogging girls, strolling around Bristol, playing with house rabbits and lots of dinners out.
Looking forward to: A new adventure.
