Bath in Fashion 2014

What do you get if you take 12 bloggers, a host of fashion brands and one very stylish city? That would be the Bath in Fashion scavenger hunt.

Today Bath in Fashion 2014 kicks off, and a few weeks ago a bunch of us bloggers from the South West had the opportunity to find out more about the week-long event. You can see the full line-up here, but highlights include film screenings, a vintage fashion fair, S/S 14 catwalk shows and Biba’s Barbara Hulanicki in conversation with Hilary Alexander.

Part of our preview involved a scavenger hunt to find the city’s best spring trends. After arriving a little late, I teamed up with TaraKelly and Polly to race around the city, sniffing out florals, pastels, sheer and metallic trends from some of Bath’s best retailers, the results of which you can see on Instagram.

The current programme of exhibitions includes the deigns of David Sassoon, the Georgian era and Dress of the Year 2013, which was a Christopher Kane number chosen by Style Bubble‘s Susanna Lau. This is the first time a fashion blogger has been asked to select a dress (usually an honour bestowed upon print journalists and editors) so it’s a pretty landmark year for the award. If you’re planning on coming to the city this week then the Fashion Museum should definitely be on your list to visit!

It was a fun afternoon out and definitely made better by hanging out with lots of lovely ladies – I think it counts as a workout, too, as we were practically sprinting by the end of the day!

Oh wow that sounds like my perfect day right there – lucky you! Trips to Bath are one of the things I miss most since I left the south. It has so much good stuff to offer!

Indeed – it’s only 10 minutes on the train from Bristol so I really should make the effort to go more frequently!
