Topshop Mega Cut Out Boots

Floral trousers and vintage blazer

Neeew shoooooes…! Am I the only one who can’t help but think of that old Clarks advert whenever I buy a new pair of shoes?

I find fashion inspiration comes from a myriad of places – fashion magazines, TV shows, Pinterest and of course blogs, but it’s often my nearest and dearest that inspire my sartorial choices. When I spotted these Topshop Mega Cut Out Boots on my friend Hannah when I went to visit her in London a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to snap up a pair for myself.

Heels are still a relatively new thing for me but I find a chunky block heel much easier to wear, which is lucky since this style of shoe is very popular this season. These boots are part jelly shoe, part Swedish Hasbeens, and I love the mix of black and white. The chunky rubber soles are similar to the New Look boots I purchased at the start of the year would look just as good with socks as they do without.

The rest of this outfit is fairly standard for me – floral trousers, a simple t-shirt and a vintage blouse, which is one of my grandmother’s cast-offs. I’ve worked out that I have enough floral trousers to wear a different pair every day of the week, but this pair is one of my favourites!

How do you feel about the trend for chunky block heels? Yeay or nay?

These are ace, I love a good chunky heel (they’re the only ones I can walk in!)

Snap! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to master spindly, stiletto-style heels!

Oh gosh, I love them! I’d just be scared I’d wreck the beautiful white sole…
