Printed Trouser Rehab

Zara and H&M outfit.jpgIf there were such a place as a rehab for printed trouser owners, I think I would surely be a strong candidate to move straight in. Off the top of my head I think I own around seven pairs of floral print trousers, along with numerous other printed items of clothing.

It’s perhaps understandable then, that when shopping in the Zara sale, I really couldn’t let this pair of heavy cotton 7/8 trousers pass me by. Not a floral print but somewhere between an abstract landscape and the cosmos, these trousers offer up a giddy mix of violet, green and charcoal.

I paired them with a simple grey t-shirt from H&M for Saturday’s trip the The Bristolian in Montpelier, which regularly makes it into my Rock The Week posts whenever we go there for breakfast. See gratuitous breakfast photograph below…

I know you’re not supposed to photograph a ‘busy’ design against a ‘busy’ backdrop, but I couldn’t help using some Bristol wallpaper, aka graffiti, as a background for these post-breakfast shots. New pieces spring up weekly and I love spotting new ones – it makes me proud to think that Bristol is the street art capital of the UK.

Mushy Bristol moment over – here’s where the clothes are from…

Printed cotton trousers – Zara / Charcoal grey t-shirt and navy blazer – H&M / White wedged hi-tops – (very old) New Look / Black and gold pouch bag – clothes swap

I think that awesome graffiti is the perfect background to those equally awesome trousers! I have far too many floral and printed trousers (proof can be found on my latest outfit post) so I’m right there with you sister.

PS that cooked breakfast looks epic!

I just love printed pants and printed clothes in general, so I always end up without a simple top to pair them with.
