Rock The Week

Fashion related (and totally non-fashion related) things that have made my world go round over the last seven days…

Rock The Week

  • Clowning around. How is it September already!? This year has flown by and it saddens me that summer is on the way out, so today I consoled myself by paying a visit to Circomedia’s Sunday Best event in Portland Square, where the performance company were holding workshops in trapeze, tight rope walking and other such essential circus skills. Mr Ship-Shape and I treated ourselves to ice cream and may have possibly attempted the trapeze, but that’s a story for another day…
  • Summer evenings. I’ve been making the most of late summer evenings by enjoying some post-work cider drinking on Bristol’s waterfront with friends, going out running (just short ones while I get my fitness back up) and spending time in our garden. It’s only tiny but on Monday we tackled some weeds and an overgrown clematis and it felt good to restore a bit of order to an otherwise jungle-esque space.
  • Wishlists. This week I posted a beauty wishlist of all the products I’m craving at the moment, most notably the Benefit Countdown to Love advent calendar. Since we’ve had builders working on the house I’ve had to tone down my spending, so if one of you wants to treat me to an item from the list, you just go right ahead ;)
  • Revaluation. My Joules + Soap & Glory giveaway is still running for the next few days – quick, enter now and come back to read the rest of this post! – and it’s given me food for thought about using WordPress (.com) to host this blog. From not being able to host a Rafflecopter widget to shoving in affiliate links without my knowledge or consent, self-hosting is looking like a seriously attractive option right now. If you have any recommendations for hosts or WP blog designers, let me know!

Lazy summer evenings are the best, I love sitting with a glass of wine or cup of tea watching the sun set over the fields by our flat- beautiful!
